FAQ

  • Classes

Q: How many children will be in a class?

A: Most classes have a maximum occupancy of 12 children. However, it may change depending on the class. You can see how many children are permitted in a class by reading its description before booking.

Q: How do I know if my child is right for your classes?

A: We understand that every child is different and requires different levels of care. That’s why we’re here! Feel free to contact us with extra questions regarding your child’s needs.

Q: Do I have to book the entire semester, or are drop-ins an option?

Drop-ins are absolutely an option for classes. It is not required that you book the entire semester.

  • Safety

Q: Am I required to sign a waver?

A: Parents or guardians must sign a waiver for each child before entering the play space. You will have the option of emailing a copy of the waver to yourself.

Q: Do I have to watch my child?

A: Please note that we are not a drop-off center or childcare facility. Parents and caregivers must stay in the play space and supervise their children at all times during Open Play.

Q: What are the rules regarding safety?

A: Guardians must be watching their child(ren) at all times. There is a 0 tolerance policy for destruction of property and physically harming other guests. Although we are inclusive to all special needs, we reserve the right to ask children that are being disruptive, unsafe, or aggressive to leave if they are interfering with the learning & play of others.

  • Rules

Q: What are the general rules for your facility?

    1. Parental/adult supervision is required at all times for the safety of your child.

    2. Please tidy up after yourself, such as putting foam cubes back into the foam pit or cleaning up the legos.

    3. Shoes must be removed in play areas for sanitary purposes. Socks are optional.

    4. Food and drink are not permitted in play areas, but you are welcome to eat outside at our picnic tables or in our waiting room area.

    5. We have a zero tolerance policy for property destruction and physical harm of other guests. While we strive to be inclusive of all special needs, we reserve the right to ask any children that are being disruptive, unsafe, or aggressive to leave so as not to interfere with the learning and play of others.

  • Booking & Payment

Q: Is booking online required or can we walk in?

A: To be guaranteed a spot, you'll want to book ahead of time. If you'd rather walk in, you can arrive at the beginning of a session or at any time during a session and pay at the door as long as there is space available.

In addition to being guaranteed a spot, Open Play by reservation allows us to control the number of people in each session and the ability to wipe down high touch surfaces between sessions.

    Q: Do you take insurance?

A: No. As we considered this option, we discovered in order to fill the need for sensory-based play skills in our community, we developed our service model to include ALL children, not just one’s who qualify for special needs services. We wanted to be able to serve everyone in our community, so we developed curriculums that will be implemented by our highly trained coaches at affordable costs.

Q: Do you offer Super Bills or take HSA?

A: No. As we are NOT a healthcare provider, we are unable to do so.

  • Birthday Parties

Q: What is your birthday party cancellation policy?

A: Birthday party payments must be made upfront in order to lock in your booking. We keep a nonrefundable deposit that is 50% of your balance. If you need to cancel your party, please do so at least 2 weeks before its date and you will receive 50% of your payment back. Any cancellations that occur less than 2 weeks in advance do not qualify for a refund. We are happy to assist you in rescheduling, however.

Q: Can I bring balloons and food?

A: Of course! We just ask that any decorations, food, or drinks stay in eating areas and do not enter play areas.

  • Counselor collaboration

Q: Can you communicate/collaborate with my child's therapy team?

A: As we are not considered a “covered entity” under HIPPA we will not ask for or keep record of any protected health information at this time. All other outside healthcare providers who are working with your child(ren) can submit a release of information form if requested by the provider working with the child or the parent of the child. At that point, “The Therapy Xploriment” will take reasonable precautionary measures (i.e. using abbreviations for names over text or email) when sharing information about the child with the parent or healthcare provider to keep information private and protected. “The Therapy Xploriment” at this time does not use, nor is required to use, encrypted email and HIPPA compliant software to manage its communication systems and will not be held liable for communication made between any of its employees and other organizations.
